Are We Friends or Coworkers?

Exploring Relationships At Work

Work relationships exist on a spectrum, from casual acquaintances to deep connections. In a world where much of our lives are spent interacting with colleagues, understanding the nature of these relationships is essential. This book explores how expectations, needs, and boundaries shape our experiences at work and how fostering a sense of community can lead to deeper, more meaningful connections.

This book offers insights and strategies to navigate this delicate balance, proving that professionalism and authenticity can coexist.

Forward by Chris Reynolds, co-founder, Investment Planning Counsel

More than 30 years after co-founding Investment Planning Counsel for and with the wealth management industry, Chris’s fundamental interest in people and problem solving remains as strong as ever. He explores opportunities in building businesses better through his Turning the Page podcast, and his new book, The Six Circle Strategy: The Entrepreneur’s Journey to Wealth and Freedom, will be released in Fall 2025.

“The strongest workplaces are built on authentic relationships. It’s not about blending personal and professional lines but about creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and valued. Relationships at work are more than just transactions, they’re opportunities to cultivate trust, respect, and meaningful connection. This book is your guide to making those moments matter.”
